GOFUNDME || CARRD

Hi everyone! In October I was diagnosed with Stage III Endocrinic Cancer, where they removed a 6 lb tumor that was 22 inches in size from my ovary. I’m currently doing a fundraiser to help with the costs of chemotherapy, missed work, hospital bills, and other costs associated with cancer treatment. I'm so grateful for the support I've already received on my GFM, that allowed me to pay for several procedures but unfortunately the costs keep stacking up as chemotherapy continues on. Our new goal to help with the above balance is $15,000 total. Unfortunately I make about $500 too much a year to qualify for financial assistance.

Please consider donating if you're able, and reblogging if you can't!

i think more people ESPECIALLY americans tbh need to get even just cursory knowledge of the protestant work ethic. there is a christo-capitalist reason you feel guilty when you are not working yourself to death. it isn’t just like, a common Symptom or whatever. it is from a deeply ingrained ideology in the west that affects pretty much everyone (even if you are not a WASP, ur still forced into this culture and will deal with its ramifications).

Looking at the past 10 years of box office Top 10s, it’s far faster to note which movies aren’t based on a pre-existing property: Frozen, Gravity, Inside Out, Zootopia, The Secret Life of Pets, Sing, Onward and Tenet.

That's it. Eight movies out of 100.

Two of them even let you see a person.

...I will note, to get on my usual hobby-horse, this would be significantly less of a problem if copyright duration was shorter.

Like, legit, most of the IP these big studios overuse would be public domain via pre-1976 US rules of copyright duration (Which would have everything pre-1967 PD), which'd give them way less of an advantage by virtue of monopoly and thusly way less of a way to choke out smaller creators...

You could tell Eggman you’re trans and he’d immediately be like “Hoho! How would you like to try my brand new ULTRA MEGA TESTOSTERONE?!” And like it’d absolutely work but he’d definitely be using it as one of the benefits of joining the Eggman Empire. Which also has dental.

You’d work for Eggman and be like “Hey boss just so you know I’m a girl now,” and he’d be like “Oh okay, do you want more giant spikes on the robot mech I gave you?” Because his only frame of reference for girly things is Neo Metal Sonic and Amy so it’s either huge spikes or huge hammers.

If this breaks 10k I’ll draw it.

tumblr's current business model isn't profitable and never will be and no amount of scolding from staff blogs or tumblr ad-free pay piggies is gonna fix that. don't let yourself be guilted into buying merch, badges or ad-free. you're throwing your money into a bottomless pit while the techbro ghouls running this website laugh about you at their next board meeting while applauding the shmucks coming up with new ideas on how to twitter- or tiktokify the website

''but tumblr needs to make money!!!''

if tumblr really wants its regular user onboard with keeping the website afloat then we should at least demand that they do the bare minimum in keeping the site functional. and right now, they're not even doing that. every change they've made lately has made the website/app worse. i should give my money to tumblr so what—they can make a more intrusive version of tumblr live? remove the chronical dashboard? come up with an even more transphobic way of doing content moderation? yeah, no thanks
